Rosemont Plantation, which was located in Laurens County, is one of the best known of the upcountry plantations because of its association with the remarkable Ann Pamela Cunningham (1816-1875). This visionary South Carolinian Lady founded the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, Which Spearheaded the effort in the 1850’s to purchase George Washington’s home in Virginia and the preserve it for generations to come.

The home is also significant for its contributions to the development of the upcountry of South Carolina and was well known for its impeccable gardens and landscapes, some of which archeologically still exists today.
